The Utah Assessor’s Association held their annual summer workshop in beautiful Weber County. There were several excellent sessions with presentations from assessor’s staff, the Salt Lake County Attorney’s Office, UAC, and the team from the Utah State Tax Commission. These presentations covered the gambit from legislative issues, to process organization, to application processing. We also had the opportunity to get four hours of continuing education from CoreLogic and another great presentation from the good folks at Pictometry.
As great as the presentations were, we balanced hard work with even more fun sitting down with our peers at the social events. Tuesday evening we had a delicious meal at the Union Grill with fantastic entertainment from a local band The Proper Way. Wednesday night we held a joint event with the Clerk/Auditor’s Association at Ft. Buenaventura. There was everything from axe throwing to disc golf to canoeing to eating. (You should see Tom Durant throw an axe!)
In summary, the Utah Assessor’s Association summer workshop was a good time spent with some great people.
