The Utah State Association of County Commissions and Councils concluded an excellent two-day conference for their members on Thursday. This year the conference was trimmed back one day in an effort to create efficiencies for members. Topics were condensed in time-frame but still included a great deal of robust conversation and learning.
These included legislative issues dealing with transportation, voting equipment vendor section and appropriations, mental health services capacities, centrally assessed litigation, crisis communications, open and closed meeting laws, tax reform, transportation, retirement and re-employment issues, county official training, economic development, arts resources, and a number of public land and natural resource discussions and issues.
USACCC also ratified the adoption of organizational bylaws, and opened up the process for receiving nominations for replacement leadership at the UAC Annual Convention in November. If you are interested in running for the office of Chair, Vice Chair, or Secretary, please contact UAC before October 31.
Special thanks to the conference host, USACCC Chair and Box Elder Commissioner Stan Summers, for his service and leadership.
