In a long-anticipated visit to Utah, President Donald Trump will be touching down on Monday, December 4, to reduce two national monuments – the newly-declared-in-December Bears Ears Monument and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
It has been rumored that the monuments will be reduced by at least 50 percent. The administration continues to emphasize that, despite the reduction, culturally significant areas will be maintained in the areas. County commissioners throughout the state will be joining with the President on Monday in Salt Lake for this this announcement. No time or location has been set as of this posting.
Meanwhile Saturday (December 2) at 11:00 the San Juan County Commission will host a Donald-Trump Thank-You rally in front of the county courthouse. Commissioners and others from around the state are welcome to attend.
