Just some brief notes this week on the activity of the Utah Behavioral Health Committee.
The UBHC Board met this week to discuss different areas of concern such as JRI, Medicaid Extension enrollment, and opioid addiction – Medicaid funding still remains a concern.
One of the goals for UAC staff is to get one-time funding moved over to ongoing and work with invested Legislators to get an inflator built into the system.
Another concern for the group is the continued cut of civil state hospital beds available to counties and the group named this as another priority.
Furthermore, the staff was directed to look further into the NACo “Stepping Up Initiative” and see how UBHC can work with their counties to participate.
