Adam Trupp was born in San Francisco, California as were his parents. He lived with them and his brother in San Francisco (and later in San Rafael, California) until he moved to San Diego to attend college.
In 1984 Trupp graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and promptly moved to France, traveling in Western Europe for nearly a year. After working at a variety of jobs that prepared him to get more education, he moved to Salt Lake City in 1989 to attend law school at the University of Utah, where he graduated in 1992.
Since earning his law degree, Trupp has had a varied career working as a lawyer in private practice, as an Attorney Guardian ad Litem in Juvenile Court, and as an administrator for the Utah Courts and the Department of Human Services before joining the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) as General Counsel in 2006.
During his time at UAC he worked to develop internal policies and administrative structures and external relationships, expanding the impact of UAC’s government relations efforts. Trupp believes UAC is most effective when all affiliates are represented and unified in message and principle, and when the Association takes proactive action in support of its mission.
Trupp and his wife Annie are the parents of two children and live in Cottonwood Heights.
